Winter Storm & Campus Operations

Update: Monday, January 26, 2026

As the heavy snowfall from the winter storm has eased, all normal campus operations will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27. This includes class schedules, dining services, office hours, and all campus activities. 
 
To support snow removal efforts, please note the following parking information: 
 
Tuesday 
Vehicles parked in Catskill Lot must move to G Lot by 9:00 pm. 

Wednesday 
Vehicles may return to Catskill Lot after 10:00 am. 
Vehicles parked in O’Connor Lot must move to G Lot by 9:00 pm. 

Thursday 
Vehicles may return to O’Connor Lot by 10 a.m. 
Vehicles parked in Hillside Lot (next to UPD) must move to G Lot by 9:00 pm. 

Friday 
Vehicles may return after 10:00 am. 

During this period, overnight parking rules will not be enforced in G Lot. In the event that G Lot is full, students will be directed to the Track lot for overnight parking. 
 
Shovels can be signed out from the RA Offices. 
 
Cold temperatures are expected to continue this week, so please continue to dress warm and stay safe. 


Update: Sunday, January 25, 2026

As the winter storm brings heavy snow to our area this morning and we continue to experience frigid temperatures, we want to share important reminders to help everyone stay safe and plan for the next 24-48 hours. 

  • Avoid all travel and stay warm indoors. Roads are extremely hazardous as we expect up to 22 inches of snow in the area. 
  • Classes will not be held in person on Monday, January 26. Classes will be delivered online when possible. Faculty will communicate with their students directly via email regarding course plans. 
  • Non-essential employees should work remotely when possible.   
  • Clark Field House and fitness center will be closed all day Sunday and Monday. 
  • All dining services will be in Farrell Commons. Mac Hall is closed on Sunday and Monday: 
    Sunday hours: 10:30am - 7:30pm 
    Monday hours: 7:00am - 8:30pm
    Treat Street is open 3:00pm - 11:30pm on both days.  
  • Until further notice, keep your vehicles parked in the Catskill Lot, O'Connor Lot, or Hillside Lot (next to UPD).

A winter storm is expected to impact our area this weekend, bringing a period of extreme cold and significant snowfall, with conditions continuing into early next week. Please see below for important information to help you prepare and stay safe.

Parking

Starting Saturday, no parking is allowed behind Russell Hall or in Dubois and Gerry Lots. Please park in the Catskill Lot, O’Connor Lot, or Hillside Lot (next to UPD).

Dining services

Saturday – Normal hours and locations.
Sunday – Farrell Commons will be open 10:30am-7:30pm and Treat Street will be open 3:00pm-11:30pm. Mac Hall will be closed. 
Monday – Farrell Commons will be open 7:00am-8:30pm and Treat Street will be open 3:00pm-11:30pm. Mac Hall will be closed.

Faculty and Staff

All non-essential employees are instructed to work remotely on Monday where possible.

Monday classes

Classes will be online on Monday, January 26, when possible. Faculty are asked to communicate directly with their students.

Safety 

  • Limit exposure to cold temperatures, especially during windy conditions. If you must go outside, dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin. 
  • Avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall and extreme cold.  
  • Use caution on sidewalks and parking lots as ice and slippery conditions may develop quickly.
  • Keep windows closed to support heating systems.
  • Charge your phone and devices in case of power interruptions.
