Dear Parents & Families,

Greetings from a cold and snowy SUNY Delhi! We hope you will enjoy having your student home for the upcoming mid-winter break. We would like to update you on some important information to support your student’s success.


Residence Halls

All residence halls close at 10:00am on Saturday, February 21 and reopen Sunday, March 1 at 12noon.
Classes resume Monday, March 2. If your student will be on campus Saturday morning, have them sign up for a boxed breakfast that can be picked up on Friday, February 20. Students should fill out the online form by Wednesday, February 18.


A Message from Health Services

If your student develops flu-like symptoms, we encourage them to come to the Health Center located in Foreman Hall. NO insurance is needed! Students are not required to make an appointment, they may just walk-in. The clinic is open Monday-Thursday, 8:30am to 6:00pm, and Fridays 8:30am to 4:30pm.


Mid-term Grades

Students may pick up their mid-term grades from advisors beginning Monday, March 16. Please encourage your student to meet with their academic advisor to discuss their grades, academic progress and course selection for next year. Grades can be viewed on Bronco Web after March 23.


Session B Classes

Classes begin Monday, March 16 and run through Friday, May 8. Full-time students may enroll for additional credits, at no additional cost up until Tuesday, March 17. Seats are limited and are on a first-come, first served basis. Student can check out the Session B offerings and pick up registration forms at their department/division office.


Tutoring Services

Tutoring is a free service available for all students. Students should come to the Resnick Learning Center to fill out an application. They will be informed of the schedule and any changes through student email. The tutoring schedule is available through the Tutorial Services Webpage. Tutors and courses are added daily, so your student should keep checking. We also provide Late Night Online Tutoring for writing, math, accounting and chemistry.


May Graduation Process
Is your student planning on graduating this May? If so, please remind your student, that they must complete a Petition to Graduate and Degree Works Evaluation, with their advisor, which is due no later than Monday, March 16. Please refer to the Registrar’s webpage for detailed information.


Delhi Dollars Special

Your student will get $5 FREE in Delhi Dollars when you add $50 to their account through Thurday, March 5. Add Delhi Dollars through Manage My ID. All you need is your student’s 800#. Delhi Dollars can be used at any on campus dining venue, in vending machines, Barnes & Noble and participating businesses in the area.

Dear Parents & Families,

Happy New Year! We hope you are enjoying time spent at home with your student during the holidays. The Spring semester is about to start with classes beginning on Monday, January 19. Helpful dates for this semester including breaks and academic deadlines can be found on the College Calendar page.

Welcome New Students!
Spring Orientation for new students begins Saturday, January 17 with residence halls open at 10:00 am for new students only. Orientation weekend provides important information relevant to your student’s success, including academic policies, meeting with advisors, information on student services, sessions on campus life and much more! Visit the Orientation webpage for a complete schedule of events. Need overnight accommodations? Please visit the Parents & Families page.

Returning Student Newsletter
All of the important information your son or daughter needs to know has been sent via the Returning Student Newsletter which can be found on the Current Student page. Residence Halls open for returning students on Sunday, January 18 at 12:00 noon.

Accept Charges Survey
The Accept Charges Survey for Spring 2015 must be completed by ALL STUDENTS including on-campus, commuters, off-site and on-line students via Bronco Web. When your student logs in to Bronco Web after Monday, January 5, they will be presented with a survey that requires them to accept charges, thereby acknowledging they are attending the Spring 2015 term.

* Failure to respond to the Accept Charges Survey may result in your student’s schedule being removed as a “No Show”.

* The deadline to complete the Accept Charges Survey is Thursday, January 22 at 4:30 pm.

Students Not Returning
If your student does not plan on returning for the Spring 2015 academic semester, please have them contact the Registrar’s Office 607-746-4560; registrar@delhi.edu and Student Financial Services 607-746-4570; financialaid@delhi.edu as soon as possible.

SUNY NY Alert – Sign up or Re-enroll
A new semester means it’s time for your student to sign up or re-enroll in the SUNY NY Alert emergency notification system in order to receive critical messages about severe weather or campus emergencies via e-mail, phone or text messaging. When students log into Bronco Web the first day of the semester, they will need to take a brief survey. If this is their first time signing up for SUNY NY Alert, they will need to give some contact info. If they have signed up last semester, they need to verify that their contact info is still current.

Happy Holidays Parents & Families!

As the Fall semester comes to a close, we would like to share some important information with you as your student wraps up the semester and prepares to come home for the holidays and winter vacation.
December Commencement
Congratulations to families of graduating students! Commencement will take place Friday, Dec 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Clark Field House. Please visit the Commencement webpage for more information. If you need overnight accommodations, visit the About the Area page and click the link on the right side of the page.
Winter Break
All residence halls close Saturday, Dec 20 at 10:00 a.m. for the Winter Break. Residence Halls re-open for returning students at 12 noon on Sunday, Jan 18. Classes resume Monday, Jan 19. Please refer to the College Calendar website for a complete list of dates and academic deadlines for the Spring 2015 semester.
Academic Standing & Final Grades
The Registrar has prepared instructions on how your student can access their grades, GPA and academic standing online, starting Wed, Dec 23. If students will not have access to the internet after leaving campus, they may request to have a to have a copy of the official transcript mailed to them. Prior to leaving campus, students should log in to Bronco Web and request a transcript to be generated after final grades are posted.

Meal Plans for Off-Campus & On-Campus Students
Dining plans for students who live off campus are not automatically billed for the Spring semester. In order to get any remaining Bronco Bucks from the Fall semester to roll over to the Spring, students must add a dining plan through the Student Housing Management Access System. Find more information about off-campus dining plans here. On campus students are billed for the same dining plan they had in the Fall semester. Plans can be changed up until Friday, Jan 30 at 4:00 p.m. through the Student Housing Management Access System.

Students Not Returning
If your student does not plan to return to SUNY Delhi for the Spring 2015 semester, please have them contact the Registrar’s Office at 607-746-4560. They should also contact Student Financial Services, 607-746-4575 to make sure all Financial Aid transactions are complete.

Check The Mail:

Is Your Student's Permanent Address Correct?


A Higher One postcard regarding the important change to financial aid/college refunds effective January 2015, has been mailed to your student’s current permanent address on file with the college on Monday, December 8.
 
If you or your family have not received this postcard by Saturday, December 13 at their current permanent address, please have your student log on to Bronco Web and check the address.
To change the current permanent address: Once logged in to BroncoWeb, click on “Personal Information” Tab, then click “View Addresses and Phones”. Make any changes as necessary by selecting the "Update Addresses and Phones" link. For detailed instructions on how to update your address see the online tutorial.
 
Your student’s new Delhi Access Card will be mailed to their current permanent address on file during winter break. Therefore, it is critical that they verify their mailing address as soon as possible. Students should activate their card as soon as they receive it or they may risk a delay in receiving anyrefunds due to them.
