Delhi Today Extra Delhi Today Extra is sent at the discretion of the Office of Marketing and Communications. It reserved for urgent, stand-alone messages that directly impact the health, safety, or daily operations of the campus. They will not be used to fix errors or omissions, boost attention, or accomodate late submissions.
Emergency Communications

Overview
The Office of Marketing and Communications works closely with the college’s emergency crisis team to coordinate messaging for the media and both internal and external audiences. The Office of Marketing and Communications and University Police are authorized to use the automated Rave System to distribute emergency alerts on behalf of the college.

Guidelines
The Rave System is reserved strictly for messages that are critical, urgent, and imminent. It is used only when the normal operations of the campus are substantially and unexpectedly disrupted, and when rapid communication is necessary to ensure safety and security.

Emergency messages may be issued in response to events such as severe weather, utility outages, accidents, and other circumstances that require the cancellation of classes, suspension of services, closure of offices or buildings, or other urgent actions to protect the security of campus, the safety of individuals, and the broader public good.

Process
Rave is the college's primary tool for distributing emergency alerts. Messages may be sent through emails to registered recipients’ accounts, voice calls to registered recipients’ phones, and texts to registered recipients’ phones

Additional urgent updates may be distributed through secondary channels, such as banners on the SUNY Delhi homepage, college-wide emails, voicemails to campus phones, and posts on official SUNY Delhi social media accounts

Please note: SUNY Delhi cannot guarantee the distribution of any emergency message through any specific channel, as each situation will be determine when and how messages will be sent.
