Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
The completion of all IPEDS surveys is mandatory for all institutions that participate or are applicants for participation in any Federal financial assistance program authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. IPEDS is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually, which gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution in the United States and other jurisdictions that participates in federal student financial aid programs. Data is made available to students and parents through the College Navigator college search site and to researchers through the IPEDS Data Center.

The Office of Research and Information Systems (ORIS) manages a comprehensive Higher Education Data System that collects and distributes information on the quality and status of higher education in New York State.

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR)
The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) provides a number of institutional research resources available.
Each state has an AIR chapter and New York is no exception. AIRPO is the Association for Institutional Research and Planning Officers and represents SUNY IR offices.
