SUNY Delhi Appoints Chelsea Mathieu as Vice President of Finance and Administration

SUNY Delhi has appointed Chelsea Mathieu as the Vice President of Finance and Administration. Mathieu served in an interim capacity in this critical role for the past year and a half. Since her arrival at SUNY Delhi, Mathieu worked diligently to develop a multi-year fiscal stability plan. Through new fiscal management processes, the college is projected to close its structural deficit by 2027/28 in large part due to an increase in enrollment but also as the result of increased efforts to manage costs. Moreover, Mathieu was instrumental in the institution’s reaccreditation process last year.

Mathieu brings unique experience to SUNY Delhi through similar roles at SUNY System Administration and SUNY Morrisville. At SUNY Administration, she developed detailed financial projections and led system-wide initiatives such as establishing SUNY’s annual tuition rates. At SUNY Morrisville, she served as the Interim Chief Financial Officer. There, Mathieu developed a gap closure plan, established a budget working group, and standardized management reports.

“We are very pleased that Chelsea Mathieu will continue in this pivotal role at the college,“ said Acting President Mary Bonderoff. “She has demonstrated exceptional leadership in collaboration with shared governance and the leadership team. I am confident that we will stay on track to achieve fiscal sustainability. Chelsea plays a pivotal role in guiding the institution to manage expenses and grow revenue.”

Mathieu is an Air Force Veteran. She obtained her undergraduate degree in global business and public policy at the University of Maryland University College. Additionally, she has a master’s degree in international finance, a graduate certificate in international trade, and is Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt Certified. She lives locally with her husband Anderson and daughter Collette.
