AOS for IBEW Electricians

Turn your work experience into college credit with our Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree in Electrical Construction and Instrumentation for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) electricians. This degree is available to IBEW electricians who have completed the 5-year IBEW Inside (I) Journeyman Wireman Apprenticeship program. Our flexible online format is perfect for the working professional looking to advance his or her career. Based on the recommendations of the American Council on Education (ACE), 51 college credits are granted for completion of the 5-Year IBEW Inside (I) Journeyman Wireman Apprenticeship program. SUNY Delhi will apply these 51 credits toward an AOS in Electrical Construction and Instrumentation.

In addition to the equated 51 credits, students in this program are required to complete an additional 12 credits of general study courses online through SUNY Delhi. Please see SUNY Delhi tuition and fee rates for online programs.

Individual Student Evaluation

  • A mandatory, non-refundable Course Challenge fee is required prior to faculty evaluation of coursework, on-the-job work experience and comprehensive written exams. Successful evaluation from the American Council on Education (ACE) transcripts will result in the awarding of 51 transfer credit hours.
  • Total evaluation cost (51 cr hrs x $20): $1,020
